Cheese Cube is a collaborative project by Alexander Morrison and Robin Broadley presented at TOAST in Manchester, UK. The show featured work by Brian Griffiths, Stephanie Rohlfs and Leeds Weirdo Club. Artists were asked to respond to a "white cube" gallery space transformed into a cheese cube. I installed cactus "glory holes" to take advantage of the space's design. The interior also featured two drawings, in addition to sculptures by Brian Griffiths.
A large, bright yellow cubicle in a warehouse space. It is pierced by large holes reminiscent of a cartoon piece of Swiss cheese. The holes on the left side of the box are plugged with cacti, their terra cotta pots protruding.
Shot through one of the cheese's holes, a small framed drawing hangs on the inside of the cube.
Viewed from inside the cube, five cacti jut out towards the viewer through the cheese's holes.
A framed drawing hangs just off the floor of the cheese cube, near the corner opposite one of the cheese holes.
